犁骨的下缘与中隔[[软骨]]形成[[关节]]，而将鼻子分成左右[[鼻孔]]，它的上缘与[[筛骨]]的铅直板形成关节。这些形成鼻中隔(Nasal Septum)的构造为中隔软骨，筛骨铅直板及犁骨。如果犁骨偏移而推向一边，则两边[[鼻腔]]的大小不相等。
